Literature Text

I wanted to be a gypsy
Wild, ravened roses
And bells of cinnamon
In my hair
A satchel of stardust
Bouncing from my hip

I Wanted to be round
Botticelli, ethereal
Grace
And long and delicate
Pixie, lithe

I wanted to be soft
Smoke, crawling
Like an ivory snake
Spreading in waves
Across the earth
I wanted to be wanted

I wanted to be a woman
Unraveling
The intricate
Most labyrinthine
Threads of my fabric
To expose
My most beautiful
Most secret self
I wanted to be discovered

I wanted to be seen
"I see these women for how they truly are... glorious, radiant, spectacular, and perfect... And then they cannot avoid their desire, to release that beauty and envelope me in it."
-Johnny Depp, Don Juan DeMarco

This quote didn’t inspire my poem but I think these are wise words and it relates to what I am trying to express.

This is truly one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever read. It's so clean and coherent it left me free to feel every word and submerge myself in the emotions you drew out. Rich and sweet. :)
